I am going to take a guess at the material used for the tiny tea set and suggest a white eraser? Whatever it is carved from, it's fabulous, isn't it? (I had a colleague who used to model such things from compressed white bread, but I think that's probably taking it a step too far and also could be regarded as a crafty means of getting two guesses as well 🤣 as if!)
Maybe other passengers have enjoyed this cruise as much as you and Sherpa have, but I would be surprised if that was the case! I was on board from Rio to Papeete and wish I had met you both!
So many thoughts on this post!
- loved the Emily Carr paintings.
- tea set made of.. erasers?
- I can’t wait to read about the Pen Shop!!
- Nachos for the win. I think that would be tough for sure when just wanting simple or familiar aboard.
This should have posted. under "what did he coat it with?" question
crayon? Im trying to think what a 12 yr old would have access to at his desk...maybe sweater lint?!! (Ack!!-as Bill the cat would say!)
What if he raided his mother’s bathroom cabinet?
makeup blush?! or colored charmin?! very resourceful young lad!
He sealed it with nail polish! Which is why it’s lasted all these years! Amazing, right?
chewing gum?! gross, but i remember that being suck to the underside of desks-maybe the color was chalk?
The carving material was chalkboard chalk! Now what did he coat it with for color?
