
We arrived Friday to get a headstart on the fun and to leave the Midwest before winter arrived. Most of the world cruisers arrived on Monday and our first gathering was at dinner.
A buffet breakfast was available prior to the transfer to the port and our ship, the Seven Seas Mariner. We boarded the bus at 1145 and we were in our stateroom at 1235. Travel as it should be!
Walking the courtyards and pool areas of the Biltmore, it’s easy to close your eyes and imagine how it would have been in the 1930s and 40s.
2025 World Cruise, NAVIGATE THE WORLD (Away in Wonder) — in cake and frosting by the culinary staff.
Everything looked so neat and tidy. Then we unpacked four suitcases. Our clothes took up the entire closet, my art supplies and our books took up the desk space and we kept one drawer empty for “all the stuff that will collect and multiply.”
Here we are. Happy! Excited! Ready to begin our adventure of a lifetime!

Kool and the Gang was the featured entertainment for the Gala. What a show! The musicians were tremendous — lot of brass. (And I now know what happens when my Apple Watch sneds a “too much noise” alarm. Except it wansn’t noise — it was MUSIC!
Robert Bell is the last surviving founding member of Kool and the Gang and he put on an energetic show. The band had the crowd dancing on their feet and singing along, especially for their finale, CELEBRATE.
Celebrate! Yes!
