A Photo a Day from the 2025 Regent World Cruise--Sydney to Bali
On the fifth of eight segments of the World Cruise, we sailed along the eastern coast of Australia from Sydney to Darwin, then stopped at Komodo Island before ending the 14-night cruise in Bali.
Australian Delights: Segment Five
Mar 27 Sydney, Australia Overnight to 7:00 PM.
Mar 28 Newcastle, Australia 7:00 AM 7:00 PM.
Mar 29 Cruising The Tasman Sea. Another sea day, another beer tasting. This time, Regent brought the beer!
Mar 30 Mooloolaba, Australia 7:00 AM 6:00 PM This is as close as we got to Mooloolaba. Too much wind prohibited us from successfully anchoring, so we could tender into the pier. This was only our second—and last—missed port of call for the World Cruise.
Mar 31 Cruising The Coral Sea.
Apr 01 Townsville, Australia 11:00 AM 8:00 PM. The one thing we learned about Australia on our first-ever visit? This continent has a multitude of ways that can cause harm to a human!
Apr 02 Cairns, Australia 8:00 AM 8:00 PM. The pontoon hovered atop the world’s lushest marine habitat, the Great Barrier Reef. We took a 90-minute catamaran to reach the reef.
Apr 03 Cooktown, Australia 7:00 AM 4:00 PM.
Apr 04 Cruising The Coral Sea.
Apr 05 Cruising The Arafura Sea.
Apr 06 Darwin, Australia 8:00 AM 4:00 PM. Even though this looks like nature, it’s an art installation at the Territory Wildlife Park.
Apr 07 Cruising The Timor Sea.
Apr 08 Komodo, Indonesia 9:00 AM 5:00 PM. Bucket-list visit to see the Komodo Dragons.
Apr 09 Bali (Benoa), Indonesia 10:00 AM—Overnight. Picturesque Bali!
Next post: The next cruise segment, the sixth of eight, was one of the most popular, sailing from Bali to Hong Kong, and featuring overnights in several Asian cities: Singapore, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hong Kong.
